About Anne Symons Psychology

Anne is a clinical psychologist with over 23 years experience working across a range of settings including community organisations, hospital, government and private sector settings. In her work, Anne draws upon a variety of evidence-based therapeutic approaches tailored to the presenting concern, goals and needs of each individual. These include Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Schema Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), and Internal Family Systems. Anne has a long-term interest in Mindfulness-based approaches, having facilitated mindfulness groups to many different audiences over the years.

Working in a warm, authentic and compassionate way, Anne seeks to provide a supportive, calm, safe space for people, collaborating with them to explore their difficult experiences, reaching goals, healing from past adversities, making positive and meaningful changes, coping with transitions, building resilience and ultimately living a life more closely aligned with their values. Anne considers it a privilege to go on this personal journey.

Anne is also keenly interested in workplace mental health and is a facilitator for the Black Dog Institute delivering workshops to enhance the wellbeing of individuals, teams and leaders, promoting psychologically healthy workplaces and protecting employees’ mental health in the workplace.
